What to have ready

• What the pest looks like, or a photo you can describe
• Which rooms or which side of the house
• Roughly how long it has been going on
• What you have already tried
• Your construction type if you know it — slab on grade, crawlspace, or piers
• Whether you own or rent, and whether it is a house or an apartment

If you have collected a sample — insects, wings, an egg case — keep it. Identification changes the treatment more than anything else you can tell a provider.
